“A Place to Dwell”

Your heart, Jesus is so full of the desire to love me, so aflame with a fire to warm me. You so much want to give me a home, a sense of belonging, a place to dwell, a shelter where I feel protected and a refuge in which I feel safe. You stand at so many squares and corners of my life and say with so much tenderness, “Come and see, come and stay with me. When you are thirsty, come to me … you who put your trust in me, come and drink. Come, you who are tired, exhausted, depressed, discouraged, and dispirited. Come, you who feel pain in your body, fatigue in your anxious mind and doubt and anguish in the depths of your heart.

Henri Nouwen

I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.” Psalm 61:4

Worship This Week

This Sunday we continue our series, “Dreamer: Lessons from a Life You Wouldn’t Choose, but God Still Used.” Our Scripture focus this week is Genesis 41 verses 46-48, 53– 57.

Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharoah king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from Pharoah’s presence and traveled throughout Egypt. During the seven years of abundance the land produced plentifully. Joseph collected all the food produced in those seven years of abundance in Egypt and stored it in the cities. In each city he put the food grown in the fields surrounding it. Joseph stored up huge quantities of grain, like the sand of the sea; it was so much that he stopped keeping records because it was beyond measure.

The seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end, and the seven years of famine began, just as Joseph had said. There was famine in all the other lands, but in the whole land of Egypt there was food. When all Egypt began to feel the famine, the people cried to Pharoah for food. Then Pharoah told all the Egyptians, “Go to Joseph and do what he tells you.”

When the famine had spread over the whole country, Joseph opened all the storehouses and sold grain to the Egyptians, for the famine was severe throughout Egypt. And all the world came to Egypt to buy grain from Joseph, because the famine was severe everywhere.

Our services will begin with the song Hold Us Together by Matt Maher. Our opening song in the 8:00 service will be Holy, Holy, Holy. In the 10:20 service we will sing Good, Good Father. In both services we will sing Have Thine Own Way, Lord, and we will close the service with In His Time.

Virtual Worship Information

In addition to in-person worship, our service will be live-streamed. We are moving our livestream to YouTube. The service will start at approximately 10:20 am with our Gathering Song.  Additionally, we post a recording of our messages to our website by early Sunday afternoon.
