VBS 2025 – June 30 – July 2, 9am – 11:30 am – VBS is just a few days away. But don’t worry, you can still sign your kids up to attend (and you can still volunteer to help as well.)  All children from pre-K to 5th grade are welcome (older kids are welcome to join in helping us run this party!)  Please help us get the word out to all kids – your kids, your friend’s kids, your neighbor’s kids, your friend’s neighbor’s kids, grandkids, etc.  Registration can be found here. If you would like to help with VBS, please contact Heather Beach at 660-537-0084.Congratulations! Scholarships Awarded to: Alexander (Xander) McGruder, Cooper McGruder, & Garrett Snyder. Xander and Cooper will continue their education at the University of Missouri, and Garrett will attend DePaul University. These recipients exemplify ambition, excellence, and perseverance. 

S.A.M. News! – We are pleased to introduce S.A.M. – Senior Adult Ministries We will meet at 10am on July 28 in the Fellowship Hall. (While we aren’t brave enough to define senior, we encourage you to define it any way you want.) Our first S.A.M. event had a great turnout and we are already looking forward to our July gathering. We will meet at 10am on July 28 in the Fellowship Hall. Ed Tiff will share with us about the good things happening at Neighbors Helping Neighbors. Please feel free to speak with Margene Farquhar, Karma Haller, Sharron Tiff, or Pastor Chris if you have any questions.

Volunteer Help Wanted – We are looking to add a few more folks to our liturgist list (those who help lead the worship service each week) rotation. If you are interested in helping or would like more information about it, please reach out to Pastor Chris. 

Wednesday’s 10 am Ladies Bible StudyThe Wednesday Ladies Bible Study group that meets at 10 am each Wednesday in the lounge began a new study on April 30th. If there is anyone who would like to join the group, please let Linda Gordon (816-769-4376) know and she will get a book ordered for you. New study is: “Women of the Word” by Jen Wilkin and would love to have you join us for Bible study, prayer, and discussion.

Upper Room Devotional Books – Spend time each day in God’s Word with thought-provoking devotions to strengthen your relationship with Jesus Christ.  “Upper Room” devotional books have arrived, please help yourself to one in the back of the sanctuary.

Sagrada Bible Camp – We still need help for transportation of campers for Camp Sagrada. The dates open are: Monday, July 7 and Friday, July 11 (Driver and Support), Monday, July 14 and Friday, July 18 (Driver and Support), and Monday, July 21 and Friday, July 25 (Driver and Support).  If you are free any of these dates, please considering helping with this important ministry. There is a sign-up sheet in the east wing narthex.  If you have any questions, please contact Bill Salyer, 660-888-8112.

July 20th at 4pm – Annual Ice-Cream Freeze-Off – What’s better than a nice bowl of ice cream on a hot summer day?  How about a whole bunch of flavors of homemade ice cream and fellowship with friends? If this sounds good to you, then make plans to join us July 20 at 4:00 pm for our Annual Ice Cream Freeze Off.  As always, this event is open to everyone who would like to enter their favorite home-made ice cream – the more exotic the flavor, the better!  If you’re not an Ice Cream chef, we’d love to have you come and be one of our judges.  

Youth Mission Trip this Summer July 24th – 27thThe Youth are planning a mission trip this summer to LifeWise St. Louis July 24th – 27th. If you or your youth are interested in participating in this trip or have any questions, please contact Chelsea Jackson, Jo Parker, or Sara Snyder

August 24th 10:20am Service: Centennial Celebration: 100 years of Organ Music featuring Organist Dr. Jacob Hofeling of the Kansas City Symphony. Held at Nelson Memorial Methodist Church.

Red Cross Blood Drive – TOur next Blood Drive will be Monday, August 25 from 2-6 pm
